How will I find out the results of the education vote?
Many Anishinabek will be excited to learn whether their community approved the Education Agreement, and as well, if 12 communities approved for education to move forward.
There are 30 First Nations running a vote November 28th to December 2nd.
The first two days of the vote, November 28th & 29th are for the urban centre polling stations. These are located in Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, London and Toronto.
The on-reserve vote dates are November 30th, December 1st & 2nd.
After the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on December 2, that is when the mail-in ballots, ballots from the off-reserve polling stations and ballots from the on-reserve polling station will be counted. Each First Nation Ratification Officer will report the vote count to the Ratification Vote Manager.
The unofficial results of the vote will be announced via press release the next morning on December 3rd. The press release will be found at www.anishinabek.ca; www.anishinabeknews.ca and on this website.
Results will also be emailed to Chiefs and band managers, posted on the “Anishinabek Nation” Facebook Page and found on Canada News Wire.
Official results will not be available until later in December after the appeal period ends and the final vote results are available.
